Supporting export growth
|
The client New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE) is the New Zealand Government’s national economic development agency. NZTE work to stimulate New Zealand’s economic growth by helping to boost export earnings, strengthening regional economies, and delivering economic development assistance to industries and individual businesses. NZTE uses its knowledge of and contacts in overseas markets to connect New Zealand businesses with trade and investment opportunities internationally.
The challenge Synapsys has supported NZTE with a range of issues:
- Scoping New Zealand capacity/capability to deliver Corporate Learning services offshore as part of its broader range of activities
- Developing the capability of their own offshore staff to work with the NZTE opportunities pipeline
- Developing a capability toolkit that New Zealand companies can use to better access offshore work
Each project required expertise in mapping out the required custom resources for unique target audiences, and then bringing a project process to ensure the outputs met the need.
The solution The Corporate Learning capability project involved us working with our partner www.agitavi.com to develop a framework for mapping capability and then data gathering across profiles of New Zealand organisations that provided those services. The final product was a report that put NZTE in a position to make clear decisions around the relative merits of the Corporate Learning domain.
The pipeline and capability toolkit projects both involved developing and refining existing materials to produce tools and training experiences that were aimed directly at changing day to day working practice. Practical tools, references and process checks helped ensure everyone was clear on what the best process was, and how to implement it.
The benefit
- Improved identification and management of offshore opportunities
- New Zealand companies better positioned to enter and succeed in offshore markets
- Clear basis for making informed decisions on strategic focus of attention
