When a client wanted to strengthen how their teams managed supplier contracts in a unique, real-world context, we turned to scenario-based learning. They recognised that while contract managers face a recurring set of challenges, meaningful improvement required repeated exposure to varied, realistic situations. One or two examples wouldn’t cut it. By designing a rich set of scenarios, we helped embed three critical behaviours: deep understanding of the contract, proactive and regular engagement, and early escalation. These scenarios proved highly effective in modelling and reinforcing best practice—enabling learners to respond with depth and precision, rather than relying on abstract frameworks that lacked relevance to their reality.
